Scope: Strategic management of resources possesses a significant and increasing potential—to dramatically increase any company’s competitive position by reshaping not only its production or service processes, but its management culture, communications style and decision making processes as well. Exploiting these opportunities involves virtually everyone in the organization and usually requires widespread cultural change. SMR is the final “capstone” course for the five modules of CPIM.
Who Should Attend? If you’ve ever dreamed about starting your own business someday, this workshop will change your whole life. Executives and managers (and those seeking to advance into management or executive roles) should take this course. Anyone active in daily management of planning, purchasing, logistics, or operations control will bring home strategic choices for enterprise organization, cross-functional communication linkages, and training development initiatives for long term gains in Customer Satisfaction metrics.
Educational Benefits: Substantial reading assignments are required for students in advance of every session, including the first. Therefore, registration closes 3/18/16 in order to receive materials 1 week before classes begin. A variety of teaching techniques are used including hands-on exercises, DVDs, case studies and spirited class discussions. By the end of this 21-hour course, you’ll be able to:
-
Discern the competitive advantages of a value-driven enterprise
-
Integrate resource requirements within an organization
-
Organize Strategic Planning meetings or sessions
-
Align management & departmental objectives within a Strategic Plan
-
Develop cross-functional measurements to optimize Value Chain performance
