"Atlas Copco has split the company to allow a more dedicated focus to the drilling and mining division. June 18th, 2018 marked the start of Epiroc as a fully independent company following its separation from the Atlas Copco Group. Atlas Copco will have a focus on industrial customers, and Epiroc will focus on mining, infrastructure and natural resource customers."

Epiroc manufactures and markets rock drilling tools. The company produces tricone rotary blasthole drill bits, raiseboring, HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling), tunneling equipment, DTH (Down the Hole), and hammer drill bits products for rock excavation in the mining and construction industries for surface and underground applications. The company was incorporated in 2004 and is based in Fort Loudon, Pennsylvania.
