When: 8 Thursdays March 26 - April 16 and April 30 - May 21, 2026 - 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Program Overview: The Foundations series of classes does not lead to certification but rather gives the learner a solid base knowledge of the topics in a more moderately-paced environment compared to Certification Review Courses.  There are a total of 6 courses within the Foundations program (Introduction to Supply Chain Principles; Distribution and Logistics; Operations Planning; Inventory Management; Manufacturing Management; Managing Operations).  Foundations of Inventory Management will be offered Spring 2026.  A full suite of Web tools with an online dictionary, e-flashcards, quizzes and tests are included with each Participant Learning System.  No physical book will be shipped.

Who Should Attend? The Foundations courses are appropriate for newcomers to manufacturing or those who are new to their roles in planning or procurement, or learners who do not feel ready to take a Certification Review course.

Curriculum:  Classes are highly interactive with a rich variety of study tools, peer discussions, team exercises, videos and case studies. 

Foundations of Inventory Management will be offered Spring of 2026 in the following format:

(PIM01) - Operations Management - self study; quiz must be completed by 3/22/26.

3/26/26 - (PIM02) - Introduction to Inventory Management

4/2/26 - (PIM03) - Purpose and Function of Inventory

4/9/26 - (PIM04) - Inventory Replenishment Management

4/16/26 - (PIM05) - Inventory Replenishment Techniques and Inventory Performance

(PIM06) - Mid-term Exam will be take-home and must be completed by 4/23/26

4/30/26 - (PIM07) - Lean Inventory - Theory and Practice

5/7/26 - (PIM08) - Introduction to Purchasing and Procurement

5/14/26 - (PIM09) - Sourcing Strategies

5/21/26 - (PIM10) - Purchase Order Management

(PIM11) - Final Exam will be take-home and must be completed by 5/28/26

Meet Your Instructor: Jessica Flory, MBA, CPIM-F, CSCP-F, CTSC, CLTD                        

Jessica has worked in production control, demand planning and material planning in the heavy equipment manufacturing and automotive supply industries. She has provided workshops and consulting services to entrepreneurs and small business owners.  Jessica is an adjunct professor of Supply Chain Management at York College of Pennsylvania.  In addition, she delivers APICS CPIM, CSCP, CLTD, CTSC and Foundations training, enhancing the curriculum to provide hands-on and engaging experiences for all students. Jessica is the 2019 and 2023 recipient of the Joni Holeman Distinguished Instructor Award.
