Scope:  ECO takes students through the three phases of implementation & control—prioritizing, execution, and evaluation.  Prioritizing & sequencing work to be performed deals with scheduling techniques in batch, flow, & project environments.  Bottleneck management & hourly capacity calculations are addressed. Execution concepts discussed include Push vs. Pull methods, communicating internal & external customer-supplier information plus production status reporting (Metrics Evaluation).  Quality & continuous improvement is critical to low-cost production operations, so waste elimination, process controls and supplier performance evaluation techniques are studied in depth.  This course emphasizes Lean strategies to optimize customer service results by reducing setup & lead times, improving quality, & reducing inventory carrying costs.                                                   

Who Should Attend?  Professionals involved in buying/planning; contract administration; cost accounting; design & industrial engineering; logistics acquisition; materials management, shop supervisors; MIS; production scheduling; and/or stockroom operations.

 Educational Benefits:  Substantial reading assignments are required for students in advance of every session, including the first.  A wide variety of teaching techniques are used including group exercises, demos, games, YouTube clips and spirited class discussions.  After this 8-week, 24-hour course, you’ll be able to:

  CSCP holders will earn 24 Certification Maintenance points by attending this course.

Jessica Flory, MBA, CPIM, CSCP Jessica has worked in production control, demand planning and material planning in the heavy equipment manufacturing and automotive supply industries. She has provided workshops and consulting services to entrepreneurs and small business owners. Currently she delivers APICS CPIM and CSCP training, enhancing the curriculum to provide hands-on and engaging experiences for all students.
